As CEO and Founder of Sciopolis, Charlie utilises all of his experience and learnings from the last 30 years of engineering and innovation, to build a new company focused on creating remarkable spaces where innovative companies can scale and grow.

Prior to starting Sciopolis he was a key leader within the team that developed and built Scale Space in White City, London, which is still seen as a benchmark for university-linked innovation space for scaling companies, including life sciences. This included not only managing the development and fit out of 200kft2 of flexible office, lab and amenity space, but also the negotiation of the Ground Lease and JV agreement with Imperial College, and helping to develop the operational plans.

His new property development career was preceeded by over 20 years of international project management experience all over the world in the Oil and Gas sector, including various roles in frontier projects in Australia, Netherlands, Brazil, Russia, Brunei and Nigeria.

These experiences have left him uniquely equipped to successfully conceptualise, develop, execute, and deliver on a very wide variety of activities which require a ‘project’ mindset, particularly in the rapidly growing life science arena.
